Black Momentum: The Economic Response

The Black Momentum is a response to global racial inequality. The attention of millions has recently been caught with publicized violent acts against black members of society.

“It’s a systemic issue written deep in the history of this nation.”

Triggered by events in the United States, The Black Momentum Program (BMP) offers an opportunity for black entrepreneurs to make tangible differences in their communities around the world.

Many people suffer daily with injustices originating from the colour of their skin. Black Momentum has not only identified some issues, but also found solutions to help people escape the injustices, flourish in their communities, and most importantly - their homes.

We see them as colleagues, friends, and members of our communities, but do we really understand the root of their suffering? To many of us, it may be something we are oblivious or desensitized to, but the reality is that this is a constant, daily occurrence.

During these times when many feel powerless, Black Momentum, along with The Bervann Foundation, and Bervann Capital will be hosting an online charity gala dedicated to empowering black entrepreneurs - Black Momentum: The Economic Response. Celebrities, companies, and investors from all around have banded together in efforts to make a powerful difference in the lives of black entrepreneurs and change their communities. For mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and children in these communities, this is an opportunity and moment to recognize the skills and value their loved ones bring. The charity gala will include keynote speakers, live music, an intriguing panel, and a virtual auction. Through this peaceful online gala, the goal is to improve and unite - not divide and point.

BMP calls on those who wish to support in reaching their $10M target which will allow for a positive improvement, not only to black entrepreneurs, but the communities they serve. BMP will use these funds to mentor and coach 50 black entrepreneurs in their ideas which once seemed impossible to voice.

The charity auction went live on Sunday June 21st, 2020 and will close on Tuesday June 30th. To join please sign-in and contribute at: https://www.32auctions.com/Blackmomentum

The virtual gala will take place Saturday June 27, 2020 between 2:00pm - 5:00pm EDT. For more information please visit:  https://blackmomentum.org/

TheMusicCulture Summer Jam

We at TheMusicCulture would like to thank everyone involved in our Spring 2020 Mix Down Project. The turn out and response was far beyond what we had anticipated, and it gave shape to our mission of promoting music culture.

During The Mix Down Project, we had a chance to listen to different styles of music, hear from artists around the globe, and learn their stories - tying together what music culture means to them. Many artists were happy to share words of encouragement and inspiration during these uncertain times (when positivity is needed the most).

A very deep and special thanks goes out to: Craig Smart, C.J. Allen, Alex Angelo, The White Cherries, Fabricio Galetto, Revine, Pedro Casas, RoadWolves, Raquel Aurilia and Kaki (Hema Dangi).

We are excited to announce TheMusicCulture’s Summer 2020 Project: Making of a Song - Isolation Edition.

Throughout the next few weeks, we will share stories of how artists have been creative during Covid-19; finding ways to produce music and collaborate despite the barrier of distance. Singers, songwriters, and musicians have been challenged with finding new ways to compose and produce. We are eager to hear how they manoeuvred through this challenge, and gather inspiring tips that will bring artists together.

Stay tuned for the first release of Making of a Song - Isolation Edition, coming soon!
